Before you begin
- You are signed in to your Tanqory store admin.
- You have Manage apps permission.
- You know which problem you're trying to solve (don't install for the sake of installing).
Steps
1. Open Apps
The Apps page lists installed apps + links to the App Store.
2. Browse the App Store
Filter / search by category. Read reviews + install counts.
3. Pick an app to install
For each candidate, evaluate:
- Reviews + install count.
- Pricing model (one-time / monthly / usage-based).
- Permissions requested.
- Vendor reputation.
- Support response time.
4. Click Install
The app requests permissions. Read carefully before approving: apps can access customer data, orders, products.
5. Configure the app
Each app has its own setup. Follow the vendor's onboarding.
6. Test thoroughly
Before going live: place a test order; verify the app behaves as expected.
7. Monitor performance
Apps can slow page load, increase support load, or behave unpredictably. Monitor after install.
Verify the result
- App appears in Installed apps list.
- Permissions granted correctly.
- App's configuration completed.
- Test workflow passes.
Best practices
- Solve real problems, not hypothetical ones. Don't install apps you don't need.
- Read permissions carefully. Apps can do a lot.
- Audit installed apps quarterly. Remove unused.
- Prefer one well-supported app over multiple competing ones.
- Test in a private browser before exposing customers.
Common mistakes
- App sprawl: 20 apps doing 10 things badly.
- Granting permissions without reading.
- No quarterly audit: pay for unused apps.
- Competing apps: multiple loyalty programs confuses customers.
- No backup plan if the app dies: vendor goes out of business.
If something goes wrong
- App causes storefront issue: uninstall as first response.
- App requests excessive permissions: review carefully; deny if uncomfortable.
- App breaks after Tanqory update: vendor needs to update; contact them.
- Permission denied: your role lacks Manage apps.
