See Your Recent Orders
Home no longer carries a recent orders panel. Your latest orders are on the Orders overview, which opens with a table of orders you can sort so the newest are easy to find.
On this page
Checking what has come in since you last looked is the first thing most days start with, and the place to do it is Orders in the sidebar. Home has no recent orders panel on it, so there is nothing to check there. This page covers where the latest orders are, how to read a row without opening it, and what the tabs above the list are counting.
What the Orders overview gives you
Click Orders in the sidebar to open the Orders overview. It does not open on the order list. It opens on a block of figures for a date range you choose, and the list sits below that.
Order Metrics carries four counts for the range: Total orders, Items ordered, Returns and Orders fulfilled, with a Total orders over time chart beneath them. Hide analytics collapses that whole block when you want the list and nothing else, and Collapse folds the metrics on their own.
Above it all sit All locations, which limits everything on the page to one place you ship from, Export, More actions and Create order.
Find the orders that need you
Below the metrics are the tabs, each with a live count.
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| All | Every order, newest first |
| Unfulfilled | Orders with items still to send |
| Unpaid | Orders where the money has not arrived in full |
| Open | Orders still in play, which is everything that has not been archived |
| Archived | Orders you have filed away as finished |
Tip: The number beside Unfulfilled is the one to read each morning. It tells you how many orders are waiting to be packed without opening anything, which the total order count cannot, since that number keeps rising whether or not there is work to do.
Read a row without opening it
The list opens newest first, so what arrived overnight is already at the top and no sorting is needed. A row can carry far more than the table shows by default, and Manage columns is what decides which of them you see.
The columns available are Order, Date, Customer, Channel, Total, Payment status, Fulfillment status, Items, Delivery status, Delivery method, Tags, Destination, Label status, PO number, Return status, Total weight and Risk.
Note: Set your columns once to match how you actually work, because it changes what you can judge at a glance. A store that ships everything itself gets more from Destination and Total weight than from Channel, and a store taking payments manually wants Payment status where it can see it. The default columns are a reasonable starting point, but they may not match the way you work.
Open an order and act on it
Select any order to open its own page, where you record a payment, fulfill the items, add tracking and read its timeline. What each status means and what changes when you move it is in Your First Order, and the page in full is in View Orders.
Tips
- Use Hide analytics if you only ever want the list, since the metrics block is what the page opens on.
- Use the Unfulfilled tab to see the recent orders that still need to be shipped.
- Open Analytics for order counts and trends over time, rather than the order list itself.
