Order List Views and Filters
The Orders list has saved views along the top, shown as tabs with a live count, so you can switch between sets of orders such as Unfulfilled or Unpaid with one click. Below them a search box finds orders by number, customer, or email, and you can add your own views and manage the columns. This article explains the views, the search, and the columns on the Orders list.
On this page
The Orders list gives you saved views and a search so you can find and group orders quickly. The views sit as tabs along the top of the list, each with a live count, and the search below finds a specific order. This article explains the views, the search, and the columns.
You find these at the top of the list under Orders.
Before you begin
- Your role includes View orders.
- Open Orders in the admin sidebar to open the orders list.
The views and search
Along the top are the saved-view tabs, then the search box, and below them the columns of the orders table. The plus next to the tabs adds a view of your own, and the plus in the search row adds a filter.
Saved views
The tabs are saved views, each showing how many orders it holds right now:
- All shows every order.
- Unfulfilled shows orders that still need to ship.
- Unpaid shows orders that have not been paid.
- Open shows orders that are still being worked.
- Archived shows orders you have archived and set aside.
Select a tab to switch to that set of orders. To keep a set you use often, narrow the list with a filter and then use the plus next to the tabs to save it as your own view, which you can return to with one click.
Searching and filtering
The search box finds orders by their number, the customer, or the customer's email, so you can jump to one order. The plus in the search row adds a filter that narrows the list to orders matching a condition, which you can combine with a saved view.
Columns
The orders table has columns such as the order, date, customer, total, payment status, and fulfillment status, and you can sort by a column from its header. Use Manage columns to choose which columns the table shows.
Best practices
- Use the tabs for the sets you check often, such as Unfulfilled, rather than searching each time.
- Save your own view when you keep applying the same filter, so it is one click next time.
- Sort by the column that matters for the task, for example by date to work the oldest orders first.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting which view you are in, so you miss orders that are hidden by the current tab. Switch to All to see everything.
- Searching for an order that a tab is hiding, for example looking on Unfulfilled for an order that is already fulfilled.
