Your Plan and Upgrade Prompt
Where your plan lives and what the Upgrade to Pro prompt on Home actually opens. The sidebar entry reads Plan & Billing, the page it opens is headed Plan, and the prompt takes you somewhere else again, to Compare plans.
On this page
Your store's plan and billing are managed under Settings, in Plan & Billing. On Home, an Upgrade to Pro prompt gives you a quick way to compare plans, but the place you choose, change, or review a plan is your billing settings. This page tells you where to look and points you to the plan and billing guides.
Before you begin
- Your role includes Plan settings to view or change your plan, and Billing settings for the billing records.
- Open Settings > Plan in the admin sidebar to see the plan your store is on.
The Upgrade to Pro prompt on Home
Home shows a small Upgrade to Pro prompt in the lower corner, with an Unlock more features line. Selecting it opens the Compare plans page, where you can see what each plan includes side by side and move to a higher one. It is a shortcut, not a required step, so you can dismiss it with its close control and open your plan settings when you are ready.
Where your plan lives
Open Settings in the sidebar and look for Plan & Billing, which opens on a page headed Plan. This is where you see the plan your store is on, compare it against the others, and change it, and it is also where your purchase and billing records are kept, on their own pages beneath it. Which part of the trial you are in
The Plan page tells you which plan your store is on. What it does not spell out is where you are in the sequence a new store moves through, so here is that sequence in one place.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| The first 3 days | Free, on the plan you chose, with no card asked for |
| When those days are up | An email offers that same plan for one more month at $1 |
| When that month ends | You are asked whether to subscribe or renew at the plan's real price |
| If you decide not to | Some features close off and stay closed until a plan is taken up again. Nothing is deleted |
The email is what moves you between the first two, so an offer you never opened is the usual reason a store seems to have stalled between them. The subscription article linked above covers the billing side of each step.
