Market Currency Formatting
When a market uses local currencies, exchange conversion can leave prices on awkward amounts that look untrustworthy at checkout. The market's Price rounding option tidies converted prices up to a cleaner figure, or leaves them exact when you need precise amounts. You set it in the same Currency panel as the currency itself, so you can choose the currency and its rounding together.
On this page
When a market shows buyers a local currency, prices are converted into that currency, and the conversion can land them on awkward amounts rather than clean ones. The market's Price rounding option handles this: it rounds converted prices to a tidier figure so they do not read as odd converted numbers, which looks more trustworthy to a buyer. It is a single choice in the market's Currency setting, sitting directly below the currency itself. You set it on the market's page, in the Currency panel under Inherited settings.
Before you begin
- In your admin, select Markets in the left navigation, then select a market to open its page.
- You have a market whose Currency setting you can open, since Price rounding lives in that same panel. See Set a Market's Currency.
The Price rounding option
Opening the market's Currency setting shows Price rounding below the currency, with two choices: round converted prices up to a cleaner amount, or leave them unrounded.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Round up to nearest $1.00 USD | Rounds converted prices up to a cleaner amount so they look tidy |
| No rounding | Leaves converted prices exactly as the conversion produces them |
Choosing a rounding option
Open the market's Currency setting and look below the Currency dropdown for Price rounding. Select Round up to nearest $1.00 USD to have converted prices rounded to a cleaner figure, which avoids the odd endings that a raw conversion can produce. Select No rounding to leave prices exactly as converted. Because rounding sits in the Currency panel, you can set the currency and its rounding together.
Applying the change
When the rounding option is set the way you want, select Done to apply it to the market, or Cancel to leave it as it was. Once applied, the market rounds its prices according to the option you chose.
Tip: Because rounding sits in the same Currency panel as the currency, set the market's currency first, then pick the rounding option, and select Done to apply both together.
Best practices
- Round for cleaner prices. Rounding avoids awkward converted amounts that can look untrustworthy at checkout.
- Set the currency first. Rounding applies to converted prices, so choose the market's currency before deciding on rounding.
- Leave rounding off when exact prices matter. Choose No rounding if a market needs prices shown exactly as converted.
- Review after changing. Reopen the Currency setting to confirm the rounding option is the one you meant to pick.
If something goes wrong
- Prices show awkward converted amounts. Open the Currency setting and select Round up to nearest $1.00 USD.
- Prices look rounded when you wanted them exact. Select No rounding in the same panel.
- Your change did not take effect. Make sure you selected Done rather than Cancel.
- You cannot change rounding. Your role may not allow managing markets. Ask an owner or admin.
