Brand Tagline
Add a short brand tagline, up to 80 characters, on the Brand page so your store identity carries one clear line of messaging alongside your logos and colors.
On this page
The Brand Tagline is a short line that sums up your brand in one sentence. It sits with the rest of your brand identity on the Brand page, alongside your logos, colors, and cover image, so your messaging lives in the same place as your visual assets. The field accepts up to 80 characters, which keeps your tagline to a single, readable line rather than a paragraph.
Before you begin
- You can also reach the same page from Settings, then General, by selecting Brand identity, if that is the route you already know.
- You have a short line in mind that sums up what your store stands for.
- Open Settings > Brand in the admin sidebar and scroll to Brand Tagline.
Where the tagline lives
The Brand Tagline is part of your brand identity, not a separate area. Open it from Settings, then General, by selecting Brand identity, which takes you to the Brand page. On that page the tagline is listed under Additional, the optional set of brand elements, between Cover Image and Business Description. Because it is an Additional element, you can leave it empty and add it later once the rest of your brand is in place.
Add your tagline
Scroll to the Brand Tagline section on the Brand page and type your line into the field. As you type, the counter below the field updates from 0/80 characters and counts up to the 80 character limit, so you always know how much room is left. The field stops accepting input once you reach 80 characters.
The field starts empty with the placeholder "Your brand tagline". Replace it with a phrase that describes what your store stands for, for example "Premium cotton essentials, made to last". The 80 character limit is there on purpose: a tagline works best when it is short enough to read in one read.
Tip: Write the tagline so it makes sense on its own, without your store name in front of it. A line like "Coffee roasted fresh, shipped the same day" reads well anywhere, while "We are the best" says very little.
Writing a clear tagline
A few habits keep a tagline useful rather than filler.
- Be specific about what you sell or the value you give, instead of a generic claim.
- Keep it to one idea. The 80 character limit rewards a single clear thought.
- Match the voice you use elsewhere on your store, so the tagline feels part of the same brand.
- Read it out loud. If it is hard to say, it is usually hard to remember.
Next steps
- Brand Identity to see how the tagline fits with the rest of your brand elements.
- Brand Logos to add your primary and square logos.
- Brand Colors to set your primary and secondary colors.
