Manual Payment Methods
Configure manual payment methods: bank transfer, money order, COD, PromptPay-by-screenshot. For customers who cannot or prefer not to use online card.
On this page
A Manual payment method is one Tanqory doesn't process: the customer pays you offline (bank transfer, money order, COD, screenshot-of-PromptPay-receipt). Tanqory records the order; you mark it Paid when payment lands.
You'll work at /admin/store/{storeId}/settings/payments.
Before you begin
- Go to Settings and open Payments.
- You have Payments settings permission.
- You have bank details / COD terms / etc.
Common manual methods
| Method | How it works |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer | Customer transfers to your bank; you reconcile + mark paid |
| Money order / Check | Customer mails; you cash + mark paid |
| Cash on delivery (COD) | Customer pays driver at delivery |
| PromptPay (TH) | Customer transfers + uploads screenshot |
| Custom | Your own offline flow |
Pros + Cons

|---|---|
| No PSP fees | Manual reconciliation |
| Serves customers without cards | Slower cash flow |
| Required for some markets (Thailand) | Higher cart-abandonment |

Steps

2. Scroll to Supported payment methods
3. Click Add manual method
4. Pick the method (Bank transfer / COD / etc.)
5. Fill name + instructions + regions + min/max

8. Test by placing a test order
Verify the result
- Method appears at checkout.
- Instructions render clearly.
- Region restrictions enforced (test from blocked region).
- Test order recorded with method.
Best practices
- Clear instructions: customers fail to pay otherwise.
- COD min/max to limit fraud.
- Bank details for transfer: full IBAN / SWIFT.
- Reconcile daily: orders sit Unpaid until you mark.
Common mistakes
- Vague bank instructions: orders fail.
- No min/max on COD: high refusal-on-delivery risk.
- Forget to mark Paid: order stays Pending.
If something goes wrong
- Method not at checkout: region restriction blocks.
- Customers paying wrong account: instructions unclear.
- Permission denied: your role lacks Payments settings.
