Migrate to Tanqory

A move to Tanqory splits in two. Your products, inventory and customers arrive as CSV imports, while your theme, payments, shipping, taxes and domain are built fresh because they do not travel in a data file. This overview sorts your store into those two halves and gives the order that keeps the work predictable.

Tanqory's product import template has 33 columns, and this is what each one holds. It also covers the part that trips people up: a product with several variants or images is not one row but several, tied together by a repeated Handle. Customers and inventory import through their own templates, and past orders cannot be imported at all.

A Squarespace product export is close enough to Tanqory to be deceptive. Most columns have an obvious counterpart, but the images arrive stacked in a single cell, the alt text is not exported at all, and an On Sale flag decides which of two price columns the customer actually pays. A Wix export cannot be uploaded to Tanqory as it comes, because the two name every column differently. This guide pairs each Wix column with the Tanqory column it belongs in, and names the ones on either side that have nowhere to go. WooCommerce and Tanqory disagree about something more basic than column names: how a variant knows which product it belongs to. WooCommerce points each variation at a parent ID, while Tanqory repeats a handle down every row, so the link has to be rebuilt rather than renamed.
